Eszter Katona, survey statistician, started her PhD studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences of ELTE in 2018 and works as an assistant lecturer at the Department for Social Research Methodology. Her supervisors are Renáta Németh (ELTE, RC2S2) and Mihály Fazekas (CEU). Her PhD research focuses on the possibilities of applying natural language processing in corruption research: analysing corruption discourse in online media and detecting corruption risk in public procurement tenders.
In addition to text analytics, her methodological interests focus on data visualisation; beyond its practical application, she also examines it from an ethical perspective.
